May the 4th Be With You, Modestans!

In a city not so far, far away—right here in Modesto—we’re celebrating the legacy of the galaxy’s greatest saga. As Star Wars fans across the Outer Rim and beyond unite, we wanted to shine a lightsaber on a few happenings in the Modesto Artists Movement quadrant of the galaxy.

First up, our allies at Queen Bean Coffee and Social House will be dishing out Star Wars-inspired delights worthy of a feast in the Mos Eisley Cantina. Fuel your podracer and make a pit stop there on your hyperspace route to the downtown “May the 4th” festivities. Supplies are limited—just like Kyber crystals—so act fast.

Meanwhile, over at Cult Classics and Coffee, prepare for a night of cosmic couture and cinema. A special Star Wars dress-up evening awaits, complete with prizes and awards from a galaxy of creativity. The Best Cosplay Award will be honored with a custom trophy designed by our own Rebel Alliance co-commander Michael Ruehle, featuring none other than the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett—or as we like to call him, Bubba Fett. There will also be prizes for your best dressed fury Ewoks friends! This will be taking place at the Queen Bean on Thursday, May 8th from 6 - 9 pm. See you there!!

This celebration holds special meaning for Modesto—not only because it’s the birthplace of George Lucas, but because the Force runs strong in this city. Whether you’re a Jedi, Sith, Rebel, or scruffy-looking nerf herder, know that we’re with you in spirit, cheering on the fandom that connects us all.
